About the Position
The Development Services section is looking for a person that can demonstrate professionalism, problem solving & high-level interpersonal skills to fill a position within the Development Compliance Team.
The Development Services section deals with the assessment of applications for development approval in accordance with state legislation, with the Development Compliance team ensuring development is undertaken in accordance with these approvals as well as applying other relevant forms of legislation delegated to the team.
About You
Working as part of the compliance team you will possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical, and investigative skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers. You will have the ability to understand and implement legislation relevant to the role and interpret and interrogate plans and documents relating to development applications.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience with the interpretation and/or application of relevant legislation and rules and possess an ability to prioritise and continually adjust or organise work to meet conflicting demands.
- The ability to make independent decisions, having regard to policy guidelines, organisational practice and political influences.
- Possess effective negotiation skills and the ability to handle difficult situations to achieve positive outcomes.
- Good verbal and written communication skills which enable communication at all levels through appropriate mechanisms.
