About the Position

The Casual Library Officer contributes to the efficient delivery of Library Services across our six branches by undertaking a range of activities which support general library operations, with a primary focus on delivering excellent customer experience.

Experience in a team customer service environment and availability to work over a seven-day roster is essential to this role. Knowledge and experience in One Card Network or equivalent and sound digital literacy skills are desirable.

About You

To be considered for this role you will need to be flexible with availability to work over a seven-day roster across our six library branches. Evening and weekend availability is required.

This role is looking for candidates with frontline customer service or retail experience who can work in a small team or have prior experience in a library customer service role.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Experience in a face-to-face customer service role
  2. Currently studying or completed appropriate qualifications and eligibility for professional membership of ALIA (Australian Libraries and Information Association)
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  4. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the role libraries play in supporting all forms of literacy and lifelong
  5. Possess sound digital literacy skills
