Operating in several countries throughout the world, this opportunity as a qualified and experienced Health and Safety Advisorwill see you in the Australian operation working at the Isaac Downs Mine in Moranbah, Queensland.

About the role

Reporting to the HST Superintendent, your responsibilities will include:

  • HST Strategy & Leadership: Supporting the business in delivering legislative compliance, sustainability commitments, and industry best practices.
  • HST Management Systems: Developing and maintaining plans, procedures, and guidelines with legislative requirements and industry best practice.
  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Compile reports and analyse trends in HST performance and develop proactive and best practice HST improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Facilitate procedure reviews, risk assessments, incident investigations (ICAM) and contribute to regulatory compliance at site.
  • Assurance & Audits: Assist in developing and delivering the assurance plan to monitor the HST management systems and regulatory compliance at site.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Coach & mentor operational teams in HST matters, partnering with Training & Development to deliver impactful training programs.
  • Contractor Management: Assist with HST criteria of Contractor submissions to ensure site compliance with prequalification requirements.

Roster:

  • 7:7 Day shift only, 12hour shifts
To be successful you will have:
  • Experience in a site-based HST role in mining or heavy industry
  • Solid written / verbal communication with Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work collaboratively
  • Good knowledge of Safety & Health legislation, risk management frameworks and health and safety management systems
  • Surface Coal Mining Induction QLD (Standard 11)
  • Queensland Coal Board Medical or willingness to complete along with a Pre-Employment Medical.
  • ICAM lead incident investigation

Essential

  • Supervisor competencies: RIIRIS301E; RIIWHS301E: RIICOM301E (S123)
  • RIIRIS402: Carry out the risk management process (G2)
  • Certificate IV Occupational Health & safety, or higher qualifications
  • Current Queensland driver licence: C class (minimum)

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in training and assessment TAA40116, or equivalent
  • Experience in: Management Systems Internal Auditing and/or Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordination
  • Drug & Alcohol testing protocols certificate
  • RIIRIS601E Establish and Maintain the risk management system (G3)
  • RIIWHS601E Establish and Maintain the WHS Management System (G7)
