We are seeking a passionate and strategic
Primary School Director
to join the senior leadership team of a highly regarded independent school known for its rich cultural life, strong values, and deeply engaged community.

This pivotal role will lead teaching and learning across the primary years (Years 1-7), guiding a team of committed educators and partnering closely with families to create a nurturing, dynamic and future-focused learning environment.

About the Role
As a member of the
Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
, you will contribute to whole-school strategy, governance and culture. Working collaboratively across early childhood, primary and secondary faculties, you will ensure a seamless educational journey for every student.

Your leadership will:

  • Inspire teaching excellence and continuous pedagogical improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging and developmentally aligned learning environment.
  • Build authentic, trust-based relationships with families and the broader community.
  • Champion student wellbeing, engagement and behaviour support.
  • Strengthen curriculum design, assessment and compliance processes.
  • Mentor, develop and empower teaching staff.
  • Support a vibrant cultural and community life that enriches the educational experience.

About You

We are seeking a leader with a deep commitment to the art and craft of education. One who approaches teaching and leadership as a living, human-centred practice. Grounded in a holistic understanding of the child and a collaborative spirit, you will ideally bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a primary or P-12 school setting.
  • The ability to guide curriculum development and maintain compliance with educational standards.
  • Proven capacity to mentor, develop and inspire teaching teams.
  • Highly effective communication skills, with a strength in building positive family and community relationships.
  • Strong organisational and administrative capability.
  • A commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice.
  • Current QCT registration (or eligibility).
