Purpose of the RoleThe Electromechanical / Electrical Engineer supports the coordination and delivery of building services and electrical systems across Trescon’s construction projects. The role combines technical engineering oversight with practical delivery support, ensuring all systems are designed, installed, and commissioned safely and in compliance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and company procedures.Working closely with the Construction Manager, Site Managers, Design Team, and services subcontractors, the role provides multidisciplinary technical guidance, helps identify buildability and integration issues early, and ensures electrical and mechanical systems work effectively together through design, installation, and commissioning.This role suits a practically minded engineer who enjoys applying technical knowledge in real-world construction environments and working collaboratively to solve problems on site.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign Coordination & Technical ReviewReview and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules.Identify design or buildability issues early and propose practical solutions.Coordinate services integration between electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.Review RFIs, shop drawings, and subcontractor submissions for technical accuracy and compliance.Support the selection and design of efficient, reliable, and sustainable system solutions.Construction Planning & Delivery SupportAssist the Construction Manager and Site Managers in planning and sequencing works.Communicate complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper managementManage resources used in electrical equipment.Provide technical input into methodology plans, ITPs, and commissioning checklistsLiaise with subcontractors and consultants to clarify design intent and resolve site queries.Monitor installation progress to verify compliance with NCC, AS/NZS standards, and Trescon quality requirements.Support testing, commissioning, and verification of electrical and mechanical systems.Safety, Risk & CompliancePromote and uphold Trescon’s WHSE systems in line with ISO 45001 and the WHS Regulation 2017 (NSW).Ensure all electrical and mechanical works comply with safe systems of work, including isolation and lock-out/tag-out.Participate in toolbox talks, risk reviews, and inspections to identify and control hazards.Quality & Continuous ImprovementSupport quality assurance processes including documentation, inspection, and defect management.Apply field-based problem-solving to resolve technical challenges efficiently.Contribute to improving coordination, constructability, and commissioning outcomes.Capture lessons learned and share improvements across project teams.Essential & Preferred CriteriaBachelor’s Degree in Electromechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent recognized qualification)Strong knowledge of NCC Volume 1, AS/NZS 3000, AS 1668, and related Australian StandardsAt least 3 years’ experience in relevant fieldExperience in building services coordination or construction engineering within the building industryStrong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and teamwork across multiple disciplinesExperience working on multi-residential or mixed-use developmentsFamiliarity with construction management systems (e.g. Procore, Procure Pro, BuildPass/1BC) Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple service trades and manage technical interfacesUnderstanding of sustainable and energy-efficient system design and installationBilingual communication skills and experience working in diverse project environmentsValues AlignmentAt Trescon, we live our values of Integrity, Excellence, and Collaboration in everything we do.
