Position Description and Selection Criteria : Position
The Director - Commercial, Planning and Strategy will drive estates planning in relation to revenue generation and sustainability to support and advance the University's strategic goals. The Director will also lead, support, and implement a range of commercial services, including venues and functions, parking, and accommodation services, while guiding the University's strategic direction for its entire estate, including systems and data, engineering, and sustainability.
The role has particular responsibility for corporate and client services, with significant accountability for increasing revenue, minimising costs, and maximising customer service. As a senior leadership role within both the Campus Environment Division and the wider University, the Director will be required to exercise strategic judgement and decision-making, providing high-level advice to the University Executive on estate planning across the full portfolio. The position will also require in-depth data analysis of estates to inform forward-looking strategies on utilisation, sustainability, and infrastructure performance.
The position reports to the Chief Campus Environment Officer.
The Person
You are a strategic and forward-thinking leader with proven experience managing commercial and planning functions in complex organisations. Skilled in balancing budgets, driving revenue growth, and managing costs, you use data and insights to inform sound decision-making.
You bring confidence in leading diverse teams through change, fostering collaboration, and building strong relationships across all levels of an organisation. With excellent communication skills, you influence strategy, streamline operations, and deliver meaningful improvements.
