The Job role:
- Organize and conduct site inductions, and ensure ongoing training is executed
- Manage the investigation of work injury, illness, accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions including reporting of identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures to the Heads of Department.
- Be a key liaison for Worksafe WA for all incidents which legally require reporting, return to work plan and for any subsequent audits and/or investigations.
- Recommend operational and business requirements to support business strategic objectives for continuous WHS/OHS best practice focus. Develop and communicate WHS/OHS policies, procedures and programs.
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with the WHS/OHS Safety Management System and relevant legislation.
- Other projects within position scope as needed and or directed and any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
- Record keeping, analyses and report WHS/OHS performance metrics
- Drive site risk management, risk assessments, work instructions and relevant training programs.

**Essential requirements: -**
- Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Sound knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation, regulations and Australian and international standards and experience in providing expert WHS/OHS advice and support within high risk operational teams and environments.
- An ability and willingness to travel within customer sites and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.

**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Annual bonus
- Overtime pay

**Experience**:

- occupational health and safety officer: 2 years (preferred)
- minimum: 2 years (preferred)
