Public Health Entomologist

In support of the JE virus response plan, this role will assist with the development of service level agreements and procurement of necessary services supporting the implementation and operationalisation of the public health response, as well as providing input to the development of state-wide surveillance tools.You will analyse contemporary evidence against historical trends to assess risk, influence surveillance and vector control activities, monitor program expenditure and outcomes, identify future risks, and provide options for their mitigation. You will form and maintain effective relationships with multiple external stakeholders, including local government and other public sector agencies. You will conduct risk assessments in response to exotic mosquito incidents, and issue the technical advice to resolve issues.

- Experienced and knowledgeable in managing and reviewing public health mosquito-borne disease programs?
- Experienced and knowledgeable in public health entomology and practical field skills?
Accountabilities
This fixed term role is responsible for supporting the implementation and operationalisation of the public health response to Japanese encephalitis and capturing the aims, goals and actions in an inaugural plan. In support of the plan, this position will work with CDPC to create any necessary service level agreements and procurement plans.
- Develop policy frameworks within area of expertise or responsibility based on defined organisational priorities.
- Develop service delivery models within business plans and objectives.
- Prepare technical reports at an authoritative level.
- Oversee the development of policy and initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
