- **Team Leader - Western Public Health Unit**

The Western Public Health Unit was established to strengthen the public health response to communicable diseases, other health protection challenges and broader public health issues. The Unit sits within the Operations Directorate of Western Health and is part of a system of three metropolitan public health units and six regional public health units providing a state-wide system of public health delivery and oversight. WPHU is responsible for COVID-19 related activities (case investigation, contact tracing and outbreak management) and a new and expanding remit for communicable disease control and other health protection issues, and wider public health policy including for health promotion / population health.
**About the role**

The Team Leader will coordinate, supervise, direct, train and continuously evaluate the team of Public Health Officers in the Western Public Health Unit (WPHU). The Team Leader will guide the team regarding messaging, creative problem solving, change management and other interventions to achieve the unit’s objectives and key performance indicators.
**About you**

WPHU is seeking a experienced and enthusiastic Team Leader who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment and possesses:

- Current registration with AHPRA as a registered health professional with no practicing restrictions or eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association
- Employment experience in public health beyond COVID-19 (for example, communicable disease control, health promotion, environmental health, etc.)
- Experience in leading a team and building a highly engaged team culture
- Project management or change management experience
- Demonstrated interest in infectious disease management and Public Health
