The Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Unit (CDPCU) seeks to improve and protect the health of Victorians by reducing the morbidity and mortality of communicable diseases. The unit's objectives are to monitor, prevent and control current and emerging communicable diseases within the Victorian community through the implementation of targeted strategies based on surveillance and risk assessment.
The Public Health Officer position contributes to achieving the objectives of the CDPCU as described above.
