Hawksworth are looking to on-board a
**SQL**
**Database Administrator **for one of our major Financial Services clients.

This will be a
**6 month contract** with a view to be extended.
**You can be based**
**in**
**Sydney or Brisbane**
**with the flexibility of working 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.**

You will be responsible for running this companies hosting and database plaforms. This role is focused on database technologies, primarily Mircosoft SQL and is responsible for governing IT Managed Service Providers to deliver best in class, end-to-end operations and run database services, through reporting, governance and continuous service improvement initiatives.

**Experience**
- Three years SQL database administration (or equivalent) experience in a medium to large organisation
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infrastructure services
- Previous experience managing MSP’s/partners including SLA’s and contracts; demonstrated outsourcing experience is desirable
- Experience working in the financial/insurance industry

**Key Responsibilities**
- Service level management and supplier governance of the Managed Service Provider’s performance both operationally and strategically.
- Ensure adherence to a Build to Run framework enabling a fast pace of change and transition into production.
- Knowledge management including shift left from L4-L0.
- Ensuring the availability and health of database systems and services.
- Reduce technical debt to improve availability and overall costs of maintenance and Managed Service Provider contracts.
