**Company Description** About Us**
**Minderoo Foundation** takes on tough, persistent issues with the potential to drive massive change. We incubate ideas, advocate for systems change and accelerate impact. We push the limits of what is believed possible.
**Minderoo Foundation** is proudly Australian, independent, forward thinking and seeks effective, scalable solutions. Through bold, collaborative and selfless action, we seek to dismantle the systems that entrench inequality and advocate for a fairer future.
**The Gender Equality Focus Area** is committed to forging a future where all people realise their inherent freedom and equality. Strengthening partnerships is critical to achieve this. Guided by the 2030 Strategy, Gender Equality is focused on ending the egregious human rights abuses of modern slavery and gender-based violence, shifting harmful social norms and legislative barriers to gender equality, and creating new economic opportunities that will empower women from the boardroom to the factory floor. Although Walk Free will continue to work globally, all four bodies of work will prioritise Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
We currently have an opportunity for a Principal, Equal Economic Opportunity, to work in the Gender Equality team, collaborating closely with other Minderoo divisions, to develop and implement the Equal Economic Opportunity body of work. You will also be involved in the implementation of other key projects.
In this 12-month parental leave cover role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Developing philanthropic and impact investment approaches that support women’s economic empowerment, through entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and employment in Australia and the APAC region.
- Managing philanthropic and investment partnerships that increase capital and resources allocated to women entrepreneurs, support financial inclusion and promote gender equality in the work force.
- Building trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including civil society organisations, social enterprises, philanthropic organisations and impact investors.
- Engaging private sector partners, including large businesses, banks and investors to increase women’s access to capital and employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
- Working closely with Minderoo’s Advocacy and Engagement function to support relevant law and policy reform.
- Collaborating with Minderoo’s Impact Investing team to assist in implementing the Equal Economic Opportunity impact investment strategy and support opportunities for impact investing.
**Qualifications**
You will bring a minimum of five years of professional experience, including experience developing, delivering and/or managing strategies to promote gender equality and/or economic empowerment. This may include experience managing services and programs in the for-purpose sector or experience working on these issues in government or the private sector.
You will have:
- A relevant tertiary degree with an understanding of commercial and financial models.
- Experience working on gender equality issues and understanding of the complexity and challenges associated with financial inclusion and economic empowerment for vulnerable women.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prepare briefings, reports, talking points, op-eds, speeches on key issues and new policy developments.
**Additional Information** Next Steps**
Please attach your resume and a cover letter explaining why you interested in this opportunity.
**Applications close: 1st October 2025**
