Production Supervisor

With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We have an opportunity for a qualified, experienced and highly capable **Production Supervisor** to lead the operations crew. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, this role is responsible for managing safe and effective operations of the Karara magnetite concentrator, including but not limited to: crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, flotation, thickening, filtration and control room operation.

This role operates on an **8 days on 6 days off 7 nights on 7 days off** rotation.

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a strong background in process operations and have held a previous leadership role in the mining / heavy industry.

- Oversee effective operation of the plant on a shift to shift basis
- Ensure consistency in plant operation across shifts by following operational systems and procedures
- Liaise closely and regularly with plant Maintenance Supervision and Metallurgists to identify maintenance or process related issues and develop immediate rectification actions
- Communicate and execute daily and weekly production schedules to establish priorities, interactions and isolation requirements within the team
- Provide assistance to the Production Superintendent and Permit Supervisor in the implementation and execution of operational shutdown schedules and plans for with all major and minor planned maintenance shutdown events
- Management of shift manning levels
- Ensuring effective housekeeping in the plant
- Daily production reports as required
- Providing direction, mentoring and coaching to team members
- Maintaining effective communication lines with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Management of contractor workforce
- Seek and drive opportunities for continuous improvement across all aspects of work

**Key individual requirements;**
- Class 'C' 'Manual Drivers License (WA)
- Qualification in Frontline Management
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- SAP systems
- Section 44 certificate
- Strong understanding of mineral processing
- Sound understanding and previous experience in mineral processing operations including crushing, grinding, flotation (conventional), thickening, and filtration, tailings disposal and management (wet and dry)
- Exposure to magnetic separation
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively
- Manage a multi-disciplined team
- Proven knowledge and understanding of hazards working in a processing operation environment
- National Police clearance
