Control Room Operator

Our client in Smithfield is seeking a highly motivated Control Room Operator to join their team. As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of their plant by adhering to operational procedures and handling work safely.
**Responsibilities**:
- Handle Control Room Operations as per procedures
- Oversee control desk consisting of HMI computer screens and manage any issues in a timely manner
- Be overall eyes and ears for plant operation, communicate with operators on the shop floor, 2IC & other relevant parties
- Gain awareness of system operating requirements, trends and suggest operating adjustments
- Effectively communicate with maintenance regarding any production related issues
- Participate in safety discussions, continuous improvement activities, self-initiated improvement projects
- Actively participate in SDWT (Self-Directed Working Team)
- Maintain highest standard of safety and housekeeping on site
- Oversee productions and process key metrics for operating plant machinery within parameters
- Complete shift logbooks, daily safety checks, workplace inspection reports and other tasks assigned with correct information
- Participate actively in safety committee meetings, emergency management meetings, toolbox talks and other team activities
- Complete reports and ongoing administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner
- Attend training and actively participate in performance management as directed by management
- Communicate resource constraints and roadblocks in a timely manner to management
- Adhere to our client's ways of working and company values
- Support other company goals as required
- Any other duties and responsibilities assigned or delegated to you from time to time are within your skills, qualifications and competencies
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a control room or production environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to adhere to operational procedures and work safely
- Understanding of process control systems and HMI computer screens
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Willingness to participate in training and development programs
- Flexibility to work on rotating shifts and weekends
