Southern Cross Care QLD are currently looking for a Financial Accounting Team Leader to join the Finance team based at our conveniently located Support Office in Upper Mt. Gravatt.

Reporting to the Head of Finance - Reporting & Compliance, the Financial Accounting Team Leader is responsible for preparing the statutory, regulatory compliance obligations along with management of the Financial Accounting team.

**What are the responsibilities?**

Position accountabilities include:

- Ensuring compliance and assurance of the Financial Accounting internal controls, policies, processes and legislative obligations.
- Leading the Financial Accounting Team in the provision of high quality financial and statutory reporting.
- Preparation of the Annual Financial Statements, Quarterly Reporting and other reporting obligations.
- Coordination of the external audit process.

**What you will bring to the role?**
- Qualified CA/CPA with professional accounting body or equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with a high level of interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain close relationships with relevant stakeholders across the organisation and to liaise with customers and stakeholders in a professional manner
- Ability to manage tasks and the team to achieve agreed outcomes and timeframes
- Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and processes
- Demonstrated experience with accounting concepts including statutory and compliance reporting, fixed asset accounting, general ledger maintenance and financial reporting through financial analysis
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Statutory and EOM reporting experience with ability to communicate financial data and results effectively
- Residential Aged Care experience and knowledge of the legislation
- High level of competency with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Previous experience with Epicor software preferred
