This role provides a unique opportunity to combine your analytical skills and creativity to enhance economic literacy among young people across Australia, shaping and inspiring the next generation of economic thinkers
The Public Education Economist:
- Conducts rigorous research and evidence-based evaluations to identify effective solutions in support of introducing economics to a broader and more diverse student population.- Shapes and creates economics resources for teachers and students across Australia, with a focus on monetary policy.-
- Is actively involved in delivering events for students and educators- Offers expertise in communicating economic concepts in a simple way to help amplify the RBA’s voice in the economic conversation.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Hone your skills in communicating complex economics concepts in an easy-to-understand way.- Write for a variety of audiences across a range of media, such as educational resources, video storyboards and scripts, and presentations.- Work with key stakeholders, including curriculum bodies, teacher associations, academics and students.- Contribute to collaborative, multi-disciplinary projects that cut across education and communications objectives.- Collaborate with a vibrant team of communication, design, education, and economics professionals who are enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and advancing each other’s skills.- Explore your creative side.
Key requirements:
- Strong economic research/analytical skills, particularly in micro-data and applied micro-econometrics.- Strong presentation and report writing skills- Min 2-5 year’s work experience within economic and/or policy roles- Experience with stakeholder engagement beneficial- Enthusiasm for engaging with young people- Working with Children Check
