**How will I help?**

As an Associate, you will be part of Oversight team under KYC Services, responsible for overseeing the operational process across customer onboarding and ongoing customer maintenance functions to identify simplification making it simpler for our customer to do business with us. Associates must have knowledge of customer due diligence measure in accordance with local regulatory requirements. It is expected that associate will familiarise with the Westpac's Global Standards to facilitate the business’ KYC obligations.

KYC Service Team is part Corporate Institutional Banking business unit and works directly with the Customers, Business, other Operational Teams and Financial Crime Compliance to complete customer onboarding and maintenance across all Westpac Institutional Banking customers **.**

In this role you will demonstrate adequate knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, processes, system knowledge as well as knowledge of KYC process within KYC services and work closely with peer group to ensure process consistency. You will interact with the Financial Crime Compliance team to clarify policy guidance that are unclear in effect to streamline KYC process and reduce pain points. You will take a lead in ad hoc projects for new processes or industry initiatives and take accountability to understand the risk environment in which you operate and ask questions where necessary. In addition to this you will:

- Actively and positively engage in ‘Stand-Ups’ and formal team meetings.
- Work with your colleagues to build accurate procedures of current processes ensuring they are always kept up to date.
- Work closely with Supervisor and Manager to actively engage in cross training within the team.
- Manage the close interaction between the Operations teams to ensure seamless communication and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve risk mitigation by tightening controls and/or procedures.
- Embrace change initiatives and work with your colleagues to keep procedures updated and implement the change processes as seamlessly as possible.
- Identify opportunities for system and process enhancements and work closely with Management to work through cost vs benefit analysis and delivery plan for implementation. Own delivery where agreed.
- Ensure that operational risk practices are actively understood and complete all mandatory training e.g., Banking Code of Practice.

**What do I need?**

- Knowledge in the local jurisdictional KYC/AML requirements.
- Organizational skills that allow you to manage a diverse workload but prioritise critical deliverables (e.g., Ability to prioritise and review client files based on due dates and business criticality).
- Strong analytical mindset and data analytical skill set.
- Confident and articulate communicator.
- Able to work independently, under pressure and deliver to tight timelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all organisational levels and across jurisdictions.
- Energetic and motivated, able to work well inside a group and broadly across an organisation.
- Certifications pertaining to AML/KYC is an added advantage.
