**About us**

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services which focus on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.

Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) is responsible for the overall coordination of the emergency management system in Victoria. EMV drives the integration of policy, strategy, operational coordination, and planning across Victoria's emergency management sector, contributing to safer, more resilient communities. EMV is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).

**About the role**

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary Emergency Management, this position is responsible for providing advice on the accountabilities of EMV to government and senior executive. The Chief Executive will have a comprehensive understanding of emergency management and government.

**About you**
- Highly developed relationship building and stakeholder management skills with a track record in building successful partnerships to achieve business objectives.
- Extensive experience advising and working to Ministerial / Cabinet level.
- Highly developed leadership skills with sound experience communicating vision and setting clear strategic direction within complex and challenging environments.
- Significant experience in working collaboratively with a wide range of senior stakeholders, including those whom hold independent statutory positions.

**Qualifications**

Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable.
