**About the role**:
The Head of Risk and Compliance will have the opportunity to create and deliver meaningful work that contributes directly to our strategic vision through partnership with the various internal business units. You’ll be embraced as part of our professional team with opportunities to develop and grow throughout the business.

**What you will be doing**:

- Support the delivery of BetMakers’ overall Risk and Compliance strategy
- Oversee BetMakers risk register and risk reporting processes
- Regularly review and amend the risk register and enterprise risk management framework
- Manage the delivery of BetMakers compliance obligations across its global operations
- Oversee the implementation of software solutions
- Support the implementation of an ESG framework
- Prepare submissions to government and regulatory authorities
- Develop a structured approach to continuous learning and the uplift of the team’s capability
- Provide timely, focused and commercial legal business partnering services to all business units
- Organise, create and deliver legal training throughout the business as required
- Develop and grow relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

**What you will bring to the role**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification and proven experience in a similar role
- Understanding of legal issues relating to intellectual property, competition and consumer law
- Experience in preparing in depth risk registers
- Previous experience working with the wagering and racing industry preferred
- Experience with regulatory work or the ability to understand the legal and regulatory framework of the Australian and global wagering market and racing industry
- Extensive knowledge of practising in a highly regulated industry
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced organisation
- Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels including the Executive team
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy, analytical, strong communication, organisation and time management skills
- Capable of working effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Strong understanding of IT related standards, ISO 27001, NIST etc
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including in presenting complex data
