The Risk & Compliance Officer for the Home Operations reports to the Head of Operations – Home and Easy Living and will directly support individuals in the Home and Easy Living operations and working closely with the Risk & Compliance Functions.
The team member will focus their attention on the Home operations which includes property claims management and other serivce related insurance products. At the request of the head of function, you also perform other necessary tasks, not defined in this document
Key responsibilities/What you do:
- Support the Head of Operations with governance framework and effective management thereof including compliance with Global Functional rules frameworks
- Support the operations teams with Policy wording (writing and maintaining), and any change process thereof
- Support the operations teams with applicable legislation and regulations that impact operations.
- Operations related content management (creation or review as is necessary) directed by the Head of Operations
- Support in maintaining product risk and performance metrics and associated reporting
- Actively assist in identifying any incidents occurring within the business function and determine if they are Risk related; Legal or Compliance issues; or any other matter.
- Work collaboratively with your team within the business function; and 2nd Line Risk and Compliance teams as directed by the Risk Lead to immediately determine steps to be undertaken to identify and mitigate incidents; inclusive of:
- Commencing initial incident investigation;
- Implementing immediate incident fixes to reduce both customer and business impact;
- Determining root cause of the incident and liaising with other business function areas to identify reasons for; and frequency of occurrences;
- Assist with any Risk or Compliance control strengthening requirements to prevent reoccurrence;
- Provide support on corrective business actions or risk mitigation strategies; and
- Provide technical knowledge on operational processes, procedures and business initiatives.
- Report upon all Risk and Compliance issues relating to your business function to your reporting manager, mentors; and 2nd Line Risk and Compliance functions. Articulating upon how effective the existing processes/controls are in managing operational or compliance risks for your business function.

Key Profile Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Risk related role within Insurance and/or Financial services
- A relevant Corporate Risk based qualification would be advantageous.
- Aptitude for analysis, investigations and problem solving
- Good Oral and written communication skills,
- Strong stakeholder management and team player
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Experiences in Office Applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc
