As an APS 5 GEOINT data officer you will:

**Note**:
**About our Team**
AGO's GEOINT Data Office is responsible for the enterprise data holdings of AGO and Defence GEOINT partners. The GEOINT Data Office supports a wide array of functions from highly technical functions to strategic governance and policy guidance for the Department and intelligence community. The modernisation of the GEOINT Data Office presents staff in the directorate significant opportunity to contribute to the support of critical Defence operations through provision of timely, accurate and fit-for-purpose GEOINT data.

Through a consultation process, successful applicants will be placed in teams where vacancies exist and that best suit their skills and experience.

Potential placements at the APS 5 level are in the following teams:
Data Dissemination - The Data Dissemination team is responsible for the movement of data across networks, including internally for use by intelligence professionals and externally to AGO customers. The role requires an understanding of, or willingness to learn about, security protocols and processes that ensure data is transferred appropriately between networks. The Data Dissemination team is considered operational and is occasionally required to provide short-notice, out-of-hours support to Defence operations and exercises.

Data Operations - The Data Operations team is responsible for the support and management of AGO’s enterprise data warehouse across multiple domains. The Data Operations team collaborates extensively with stakeholders to ensure AGO’s data is of a high standard and is quickly and easily accessible. The role requires strong analytic and technical skills, in addition to an understanding of, or willingness to learn about data storage methodologies and policies, metadata, and the use of commercial off-the-shelf software for data management.

We’re looking for technically savvy individuals with strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for learning.

A passion for data management and a commitment to adhere to data work standards and methodologies is important to ensure the trust of a range of stakeholders.
