- Remuneration: $130,350-$138314 + 17% Superanuuation
- Location: Sydney, NSW. (Hybrid Working Model, some local travel required)

**About Maridulu Budyari Gumal - SPHERE**:
The Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE) is one of Australia’s Advanced Health Research and Translation Centres, bringing into partnership the research, innovation and education ‘engine rooms’ in leading universities, health services and medical research institutes. Our aim is to accelerate clinical research to develop new and innovative ways to deliver better healthcare for communities in NSW.
**Why Your Role Matters**:
The Operations Manager, SPHERE provides oversight and leadership to the organisation and provides support to the Executive Director (ED) and several committees that support operational performance. The Operations Manager is a member of the SPHERE team and is accountable to the SPHERE ED for operational performance and delivery of Council’s strategic objectives for the organisation. The Operations Manager reports to the SPHERE ED and has multiple direct reports:
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership, operational management, and oversight across SPHERE
- Collaboratively set priorities for research, educational, operational, communication and business areas of SPHERE.
- Work with the ED to communicate, implement and monitor the strategic objectives set by SPHERE, providing guidance and support to the SPHERE Strategy and Performance Committee.
- Work with the ED regarding strategic planning and development of SPHERE ensuring participation, collaboration and alignment across SPHERE’s partners and affiliations.
- Manage operational requirements for SPHERE, including establishing efficient and effective operational management systems for SPHERE across all affiliated institutions in the areas of Human Resources, contract negotiations, corporate governance support, and finance.
- Work with the ED to develop exemplary relationships with all of SPHERE’s partners and key stakeholders,
- Support the SPHERE Executive Team with major funding opportunities
- Work with the ED to establish, review, measure, and monitor key performance indicators
- Lead and manage engagement and involvement with key stakeholders to build awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the Clinical academic program outcomes.
- Develop milestones, outcomes, and performance indicators that will ensure that SPHERE’s clinical trial support and enablement plan is aligned with NSW, National and International policies, and trends.
- Proactively plan for and respond to changes in Australian and International Government policy
- Support the SPHERE Committees as secretariat
**Who You Are**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with extensive senior management experience
- Previous success in a university, government, hospital, or medical research institute
- Demonstrated success in bringing together diverse and complex structures to support local, state, and national program development and delivery.
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
- Excellent leadership and change management
- Expertise in developing and negotiating formal governance arrangements for new partnerships, networks, and alliances.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with preparing and delivering major reports, briefing documents and presentations to a broad range of audiences, including Executive and Board meetings.
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to an inclusive and collaborative model of operating.
- Understanding of issues that affect access, participation, and success of culturally and linguistically diverse, vulnerable populations and Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
