**About The Role**

The Financial Assurance and Control Officer is responsible for ensuring that financial operations and practices adhere to company standards, statutory and legislative regulations, relevant standards, and best practices. This role will assess the effectiveness of controls, monitor compliance with policies, and make recommendations to improve financial systems, compliance processes and practices.
- Control Assessment: Evaluate end-to-end internal controls to ensure they are effective and operating as intended.
- Financial Reporting: Review financial reporting published internally and externally for accuracy and completeness.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and statutory, legislative, and regulatory standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process enhancements or efficiencies to improve financial outcomes and/or experience of workforce and customers.
- Risk Management: Evaluate financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies in coordination with Risk & Compliance Manager, General Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Audits: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of financial processes, control procedures, and audit findings.
- Training: Conduct or facilitate training sessions for staff on financial control procedures and best practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with various departments to provide insights and guidance on how to improve financial controls and compliance.
- Projects: Participate in special projects related to financial systems, process improvements, or the implementation of new financial tools.

**About You**
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial auditing and/or systems auditing, assessment of systems of internal controls, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CMA or CIA would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk Management
- Knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with financial software, enterprise solutions and reporting tools.
- Ability to positively interact and collaborate with all stakeholders.
- Critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations relevant to industries.
