About the Business Unit
Justice Health's objective is to improve the health of adult and youth offenders in Victorian custodial settings. As a business unit of Corrections and Justice Services within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Justice Health oversees the delivery of health, mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) services to persons in Victoria's adult and youth justice facilities by contracted service providers.
Justice Health works in partnership with the Aboriginal community, under the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement Burra Lotjpa Dunguludja, to improve outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities through active participation in the Aboriginal Justice Forum and associated Collaborative Working Groups.
About the Role
Working within the Health information Services Team, the Health Information Administrative Officer responds to regular requests for the release of health information under various legislative frameworks including the Freedom of Information Act, the Health Records Act, and through various Court Orders including by subpoena and warrant. The Health Information Administrative Officer is responsible for registration of requests received by Justice Health and for the co-ordination and processing of requests for health information.
**Some of your duties may include**:
- Coordinate the efficient and timely registration and processing of various requests received by Justice Health such as Court Orders and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
- Provide sound advice to departmental staff in relation to relevant procedures, ensuring issues are identified and managed and strict timelines are met.
- Draft, regular and one-off, high quality correspondence to the applicants, internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond to enquiries from staff, stakeholders and members of the public about access to health information and other FOI and privacy matters within the established guidelines and legislative frameworks.

- Excellent organisation and coordination skills - Determine priorities, organise workloads and meet deadlines in an environment where timeliness and confidentiality are paramount
- Health records experience is highly desirable

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
**Acceptable evidence includes**:
- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
