
Principal Policy Advisor

As Principal Policy Advisor, you will gain experience leading a small team, as well as having responsibility for individual outcomes. This role is a fantastic opportunity for those who wish to pursue a role in team management in the future. You will lead policy and legislative reforms related to a broad range of industry accreditation schemes, with a specific focus on ensuring the safety of Queensland roads. You will also be responsible for the continuous improvement and review of schemes, ensuring they are relevant, contemporary and meet community and industry expectations.
**Accountabilities includes**:
- Define and analyse complex policy and legislative problems and develop solutions that consider a variety of perspectives.
- Identify and pursue policy and legislative opportunities for reform to improve road safety and support industry productivity.
- Autonomously manage a program of policy and legislation work, establishing timeframes and frameworks for implementation, and delivering initiatives in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage and coordinate the resources of project teams.
- Contribute proactively to the broader team as a senior team member.
- Develop and maintain effective and diverse networks, build professional relationships, negotiate with stakeholders and drive industry engagement.
- Work collaboratively and utilise the expertise and skills of others to develop policy and legislative solutions.
- Provide specialist advice to Managers, Directors and Executives, and key stakeholders.
- Understand broader strategic drivers, align work accordingly, and positively convey strategic context to peers and if applicable, subordinates.
