About the Role

**The successful applicant will**:

- Provide leadership and advice in the planning and implementation of a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behaviour framework at the regional and school level to support the department's agenda for improvement in schools.
- Provide project planning and support to assist with the development and implementation of department strategic initiatives. This includes current and emerging Australian government and State government initiatives.
- Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role.

The Principal Advisor, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behaviour has responsibility for the following:

- Work collaboratively with senior officers, key partners and regions to shape strategic thinking to promote and support the delivery of a state-wide consistent multi-tiered framework for behaviour support.
- Advise regional and school teams in evidence-based strategies required to develop whole school, multi-tiered framework for behaviour support.
- Identify, research and progress strategic initiatives regarding education and training reform and formulate innovative options and solutions that stimulate and drive community, sector and government agendas.
- Provide strategic advice to the Minister, Director-General, and senior officers to inform quality executive decision making.
- Prepare major policy papers, cabinet submissions, briefings, reports etc. on strategic education and training reform initiatives.
- Implement evaluation and monitoring processes which measure the impact of strategic initiatives and administrative processes to inform current and future agendas.
- Develop and implement communication strategies for consultation for policy development and implementation and to raise awareness of the outcomes of education and training reforms in the community.
- Foster a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment that encourages, professional growth and continuous improvement.

The Principal Advisor, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behaviour reports to the Director, Student Engagement and Alternative Learning within Disability, Inclusion and Student Services.
