**The role**
This Government Department is seeking an experienced Project Officer to help co-ordinate the day-to-day operations and project support.
It is through to 10th of March with possible extensions.
**Responsibilities**
- Support the delivery of key projects and outcomes, including the preparation of government submissions, business cases and reports, responses to issues papers and implementation plan
- the identification of emerging, complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop innovative solutions and options
- Undertake planning and project management activities
- Administrative aspects of project financials including raising purchase orders and management of invoices
**Skills required**
- Previous experience in a similar role in a project-based environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of the existing bushfire risk management framework and practices in Victoria is highly desirable.
- Highly proficient technology user (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, project and task management tools, MS Teams)
- Demonstrable experience of project controls including budgets, forecasts, risks, issues; familiarity with the reporting of these controls, including familiarity with governance reporting and steering committee meetings
