**Job Description**:
As Environmental Approvals Lead you will guide and support our portfolio of high-profile clients through strategic planning, environmental assessments and approval pathways for exciting energy transformation, transportation, Defence and 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games projects. You will contribute to strategic growth, technical excellence and innovation in multidisciplinary environmental assessments and management planning.
As a key member of our ANZ Impact Assessment and Permitting Practice, you will support our Queensland-based team to deliver robust strategic assessments across all project lifecycles from early strategy development through to development and operation to help solve our clients most pressing challenges. You will have the opportunity to embrace new and emerging trends in environmental assessment and approvals using tools such as AECOM’s digital reporting platform (PlanEngageTM).
As a natural communicator and passionate leader, you value the opportunity to guide and mentor a growing team of professionals, with a focus on technical excellence in client service and project delivery. This role will see you managing and coordinating project resourcing, developing business, and providing technical review.
Job Responsibilities
+ Lead strategic planning for local, State and Commonwealth approvals
+ Manage the delivery of complex approvals on major projects, including coordination of multidisciplinary technical teams, environmental impact assessments and environmental planning
+ Provide technical advice and strategic planning for impact assessment and approvals across a diverse range of projects and environmental services
+ Manage resources, delegating activities, monitoring and managing project budgets (with support as required)
+ Uphold positive and beneficial relationships with clients, contractors, government agencies, service providers and staff
+ Prepare proposals and discipline-related inputs for tenders or other business development activities
+ Contribute to professional development of environmental professionals within the team and broader business.
About You
+ Relevant environmental assessment and approvals experience in a consulting environment
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical reviewing
+ Project management skills, including schedule, resource and budget management
+ Problem solving capacity
**Qualifications**:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Science or Engineering
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Project - advantageous
