Our Ecological Design Team is looking for reinforcement
Here at 28South, we are a young and passionate team, shaping responsible development and achieving balanced environments.
We are looking for a passionate ecological designer to assist in the preparation of various types of ecological design plans as well as assist in the management and administration of construction and rehabilitation works on site.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the natural environment and have a minimum of 2 to 3 years industry experience within Southeast Queensland. The candidate will be working within a team environment but also be able to work individually and have proven experience in documentation, communication, and construction knowledge.
You will be working closely with our ecological design lead.

About You
As an Ecological Designer you will assist in the delivery of a wide range of projects from Concept Design through to Construction and certification as well as in the development and delivery of various ecological management plans. You will play a key role in our team through positive collaboration demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple project deliverables. Your responsibilities will include delivery of quality project outputs, fostering client relationships, coordinating with the 28South team, and ensuring client briefs, project goals, and quality standards are met throughout all project stages.
Essential Skills
- Relevant qualifications in Ecological Design / Landscape Architecture or aligned profession
- Proficiency in Auto CAD or similar drafting software and willingness to learn
- Proficiency or firm knowledge in Adobe Creative Suit
- GIS beneficial but not mandatory
- Sound plant knowledge of native species, natural systems and regional ecosystems or willingness to learn
- Experience in construction services delivering projects on site including tendering, contractor liaison, restoration certification and approval authority interface.
- Ability to work collaboratively within our team to assist in the successful delivery of projects and deadlines, balancing delivery of project needs and programming.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Excellent written, verbal, and good graphic communication skills.
- Skills in critically reviewing personal work to ensure outstanding results.
