**About Cyber Security NSW**

Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function within the Digital.NSW division of the NSW Department of Customer Service. Cyber Security NSW provides a wide range of tailored products, services and best practice advice and guidance to NSW Government departments, agencies and local councils. As well as leading and coordinating cyber security strategies across NSW Government we also respond to significant cyber security incidents and crises.

The Infrastructure Security (InfraSec) team within Cyber Security NSW, focuses on activities designed to protect NSW Government against cyber threats. The team provides vulnerability data and consultation, focusing on immediate actions available to NSW Government organisations to close vulnerabilities which could be utilised by cyber criminals (threat actors). This includes:

- Driving improvements in cyber maturity across NSW department portfolios, agencies and local government
- Providing vulnerability and risk information
- Identifying areas to provide best practice advice and highlighting current and future cyber risks

**About the Role**

To maintain the growing demand to deliver both internal projects and whole of Government initiatives, we are looking for a Project Officer to join the existing Infrastructure Security Project Team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the success of Cyber Security NSW and protect NSW Government and citizens from cyber related incidents.

Key responsibilities for the Project Officer will include:

- Coordinate and implement a range of projects across Infrastructure Security and the broader branch as required
- Think critically and have the ability to develop project goals, define monitoring and reporting requirements, and to create communication plans
- Provide project management and administrative support services, reporting into the lead project manager and various project sponsors
- Prepare and maintain project related documentation to support project completion in line with project plans
- Coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and build customer stakeholders and vendor relationships
- Manage project resources to ensure activities are undertaken to the expected quality and within the baseline schedule
- Identify project issues and risks, develop and implement mitigation plans, and escalate project variances when appropriate
- Undertake research and data analysis to identify trends and expected benefits to support project outcomes and future improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned by your manager or the Infrastructure Security Manager

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will need to:

- Have well-developed verbal and written communication skills including experience in stakeholder engagement and professional correspondence
- Strong data analytical skills and a high proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Be able to proactively manage your own tasks and prioritise your workload
- Experience working on medium to large projects and managing project tasks and resources
- Have previously worked in an IT environment and/or have a basic understanding of IT terminology and concepts
- Be flexible and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and priorities
- You must be an Australian Citizen, including the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance and willing to undergo a police check
- In addition to the above, the following skills and experience with be highly regarded:

- Formal project management credentials (PRINCE2, PMBOK, etc.)
- Previous experience with using task management software such as JIRA or Microsoft Project
- Previous experience with using databases or reporting platforms such as MS Access, SQL Server, Tableau or Power BI
- Have previously worked in Government and/or have experience working on Government related projects
- An understanding of IT processes and a keen interest in Cyber Security
