This is an amazing opportunity to join Munich Re Australasia in Sydney and lead our claims team for Australia and New Zealand, reporting directly to the Head of Non-Life. Together with an experienced team of Claims Managers, you will manage the Non-Life claims portfolio and strengthening client satisfaction by providing value adding claims services.

This role suits an engaged leader who wants to foster a diverse and inclusive culture and has experience in managing re/insurance claims portfolios and developing client-centric claims services.

**Your role**
- Lead and guide claims managers and develop competencies of the team to ensure necessary skills to meet customer, stakeholder and employee expectations
- Manage all claims topics including reviews of outstanding loss provisions, reporting major losses to MHA Board & Munich Re Global Claims function
- Manage catastrophic claims event responses, anticipate potential future claims developments and emerging risks to ensure appropriate statistics are collated/available
- Ensure best practice claims services for clients, e.g., a high level of competence, short response times, prompt settlement of undisputed claims, cooperation with clients on relevant claims topics and a fair approach in cases of conflict
- Provide active claims support for new product development including innovation and digital claims projects
- Be an active member of Munich Re Australia’s Non-Life Management Team contributing to the success of the wider business unit and driving our strategic and cultural goals
- Foster knowledge building and contribute to our thought leadership and market presence ambition through regular contributions on claims trends and emerging risks

**Your profile**
- 10+ years’ experience in a senior claims management role within a re/insurer
- Previous team leadership experience
- Strong re/insurance wording knowledge with a continuous improvement mindset
