Head of Core Delivery

**Overview**

This role will be responsible for all core technology platforms delivery for RSS. This includes:

- All Build activities
- Full end to end operations and support.
- Service delivery management
- Delivery of our client projects, including coordination of resourcing, delivery planning and reporting, release management
- Change activities including configuration and new code development.
- Testing functions
- Working with other areas in RSS technology and business units to coordinate work and priorities
- Strategic direction of the delivery function to improve delivery capability and velocity implementing new ideas and agile processes
- Working with 3rd parties to deliver core platform outcomes for RSS and to supplement the delivery function within the domain
- Remediation of all Risks and Incidents in the Core Platform Domain

As a member of the RSS Technology Senior leadership team the role contributes to the development and execution of the technology strategy and helps to ensure alignment to the RSS business strategy and delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

**Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities**

Strategic Focus
- Analyse efficacy of existing delivery mechanisms and develop a target state service design that will meet future business needs and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
- Think strategically, develop roadmaps and collaborate with key stakeholders and the senior leadership teams both within Technology and within the RSS business to ensure successful service delivery outcomes.

Operational Management
- Operationally take charge of a multi
- disciplinary team which includes Service Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, Analysts, Change and Release Management professionals.
- Focus on successfully streamlining, optimising operational efficiency and simplifying service management outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
- Support driving an innovative and agile approach to working within Technology including implementation of fusion teams into squads across build, run and incident sub domains
- Deliver innovative and agile infrastructure and operational solutions to enable the business to explore new opportunities.
- Develop delivery capability leveraging internal and external skills and experience
- Contribute towards the development of the sourcing strategy and provide management oversight for strategic vendor relationships
- Mindtree and other partner relationships
- including internally - India hub.

- Focus on leadership and professional development of the direct team - in particular building out capabilities.

- Lead the management of risks, dependencies and issues associated with technology delivery
- Manage audit requirements and any associated actions related to the delivery function

**Experience & Personal Attributes**
- Previous experience in a hands-on IT leadership position
- Demonstrated ability to manage outcomes in a rapidly changing environment.
- Experienced in managing large cross
- functional teams.
- Lean thinking, solution driven and continuous improvement mindset.
- 10+ years’ experience in senior leadership roles preferably leading an end-to-end core platforms technology function in a superannuation or financial services context.
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Demonstrable experience working in a Technology function at a senior level.
- Proven ability to problem solve and provide creative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and trust with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Track record of delivery
- Experience of financial services industry
- Highly effective influencing skills
- Strong business acumen and experience in managing financials and budgets.
- Success in using both traditional best practices as well as emerging methods like DevOps that are optimized for agility.
- Able to use highly developed analytical skills and proven experience in using data to develop insights, support decision making and assess value
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching and developing teams
