**The Program**
The **headspace** program’s mission is to deliver improvements in the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young Australian’s aged 12 - 25. This includes providing funding to improve services for young people who may be experiencing mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues and the latest information about these important health issues for young people.
**Position Criteria**
**Essential**
- Current and valid Working with Children Clearance
- Current and valid National Criminal History Check (issued within the last 6 months)
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Community Development, Health Promotion, Health, Welfare or related sciences)
- Demonstrated experience working in a community development and/or health promotion role
- Demonstrated ability to use creativity and innovation in a community/project setting
- Experience in developing and delivering health promotion activities
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to establish and manage partnerships with a range of service providers and relevant organisations
- Willingness and ability to work within a social inclusion framework including challenging homophobia, racism and other forms of discrimination
- Current drivers license
**Desirable**
- Ability to actively and assertively engage young people from a variety of backgrounds
- Understanding of early intervention models
- Experience in delivering entry level training/professional development in the community, health, welfare and similar sectors
- Understanding of mental health and mental illness and their impact on youth wellbeing
**Experience in writing and editing written and web based social media publications**
