**About the opportunity**
Paying claims is the most important thing we do. At TAL our Claims Teams are committed to providing an outstanding claims experience for our customers. TAL’s Claims teams are structured to support the customers of our three key business channels being Retail, Group and Direct. Our people may spend their career at TAL working within one channel or may move across these channels.
Within our Direct channel, we support customers who have obtained their life insurance directly with TAL or one of our affiliated alliance partners. Accordingly, we support our customers directly through their journey with us.
We are looking for a talented individual with the technical skills and knowledge who want to join in our mission of ‘being by your side for life’ to positively impact Australians.
In this role you will,
- Independently manage a portfolio of claims end-to-end
- Active engagement of key stakeholders to deliver timely outcomes for customers
- Assess, analyse, calculate and finalize claims payments in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide exceptional customer service including management of claims, communication and inquiries
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the timely and quality management of claims
- Participation in case conferences, peer case discussions, instructing third party service providers

**Qualifications** About You**
To be successful in this role you will have,
- Demonstrated experience in a similar position involving income protection, life, lump sum, trauma, critical illness, injury, TPD or death claims
- Retail, Group or Direct claims case management experience - highly desired
- Ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times
- Passionate and driven with a natural willingness to continue to learn
- Diploma or Cert IV in Life Insurance, or equivalent (desirable).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Health or Allied Health (desirable)
