**Part-time role (32 hrs/wk) based **on the Gold working across our 4 offices in Coolangatta, Coomera, Nerang and Labrador**:

Our Early Years Places are community hubs offering **child health services, supported playgroups, family support and early childhood education** whilst focusing on **early intervention and prevention** to ultimately empower children and families. We are a supportive, multidisciplinary team with a broad range of early childhood teachers and educators, social workers, child health nurses and allied health qualified professionals committed to high quality work providing wrap around early intervention services.

In partnership with **Lives Lived Well**, we are proud to offer the Kids in Focus program Kids in Focus supports better outcomes for children and young people in families where a parent or carer is involved in substance misuse. Working together, our team supports these families to build parenting skills and strengthen their relationship with their child.

**About the role**

In this Case Manager (Child & Family Practitioner) role, you will have a **specialist focus area** of supporting families experiencing the impacts of dual diagnosis of **Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD**) and **Mental Health**.

You will **undertake an initial assessmen**t of family strengths and needs, and **develop case plans** that build on the family’s resilience to enable them to overcome risks by using evidence informed practices, partnering with other services and supporting the family to shape their next chapter.

**Skills and experience**

**We want you to be successful in your new role This means you’ll have the following**:
As a qualified Social Worker, or Human Services professional, you will have:

- At least 5 years of Case Management Experience
- Demonstrated Experience in:

- Working with children or families in the context of **Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)**:

- Providing counselling and/or working with children, young people, and vulnerable families in crisis situations
- A clear understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour & development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship building skills, negotiation, liaison, ad advocacy skills
- Capacity to engage with people from all walks of life including the local Aboriginal community and people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
- Current driver’s license
