**The Opportunity**

We are in search for an experienced Asset & Facilities Maintenance Team Leader to join our team at Springvale Botanical Cemetery. You will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities and equipment across all The Southern Metropolitan Trust cemeteries run to their maximum efficiency and output.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the development of capability and skills of employees, to achieve a flexible and responsive team which can support the demands of the customer.
- Regularly review and oversee the maintenance program (Reactive, Planned and Minor Works) to determine whether the maintenance effort is being allocated to the appropriate assets and is providing the desired outcomes.
- Establish and maintain the systems and processes within the Asset Information Management System (AIMS), necessary for undertaking maintenance activities.
- Ensure that all assets are maintained to the required standard with consideration for the impacts on service delivery.
- Forecast workforce and equipment requirements and develop and maintain work schedules, productions methods and material handling procedures.
- Work with the team and other departments to produce effective maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
- Work closely with the SMCT Contracts Relationship Manager and Asset & Facilities Manager to ensure contractors are compliant and delivering contracted services.
- Assist in the preparation of annual capital and operational budgets related to as built assets, reports and forecasts and ensure they are presented in a timely manner.
- Monitor reactive maintenance costs against budget, ensuring that where necessary the appropriate actions are taken if the financial performance is not meeting budget.
- Ensure records are maintained in accordance with the organization's Records Management policy and related procedures.

**About You**
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Asset and Facilities Management.
- Superior leadership skills and capabilities, overseeing a range of direct reports within Asset & Facilities team or similar environment.
- Experience in improving business practices and performance.
- Extensive understanding of key financial drivers of a business including cost control, budgeting and forecasting.
- Proven time management skills including the timely execution of works and consistency adhering to all time related deadlines and time frames
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organisation
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to cope with conflicting work priorities.
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office Package, specifically utilizing the programs Word, Excel, Outlook etc
