What you will do - Provide expert professional advice, representation, consultancy and dispute resolution services to executives, management, staff and stakeholders on workplace performance, conduct, employee grievance and discipline matters, including applicable legislation, policies, systems and practices. - Manage complex integrity matters involving performance management, employee grievance and employee discipline, driving processes and practices dedicated to superior, timely client service delivery, and in parallel, identifying opportunities for system improvements. - Demonstrated superior written skills in preparing disciplinary 'show cause' notices, briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence on integrity and employee relations matters for decision makers, executive leaders and tribunal processes. - Proven high-calibre interpersonal skills to liaise effectively and professionally with complainants, and provide succinct oral briefings on the progress of processes, identifying and analysing key issues for consideration for delegates, executives, and other agency stakeholders.
- In conjunction with DAF officers, represent the department in disciplinary and fair treatment appeals in Queensland Industrial Relations Commission proceedings as well as other tribunals. - Manage data and reporting requirements relating to discipline, employee complaints and performance matters as required by executive management and by external agencies. - Undertake ongoing research to ensure currency of technical and expert knowledge in HR practice, particularly with regard to the challenges facing the public sector and workforce industrial and employee relations. - Maintain expert knowledge of the Public Service Act 2008, Crime and Corruption Act 2001, Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010, Industrial Relations Act and other relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain professional relationships and networks with officers from DAF, other agencies, unions, PSC, OIR and other external parties. Create working partnerships that produce a high-level understanding of client needs and ensure quality fit for purpose advice and service, targeting employee and industrial relations, integrity and conduct matters, and grievance and complaint related areas Why join the department?
