**About the position**

Reporting to the Works Coordinator Civil, the Trainee Administration Officer will provide administrative and clerical support to various teams within the Infrastructure and Property Directorate (Works, Water & Wastewater and Waste Operations). The position provides a structured opportunity to develop workplace skills while completing formal training, supporting a broad range of administrative functions including document management, customer service, data entry, and general office tasks. This is a full-time position for two (2) years. The trainee will complete the BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Administration) through TAFE NSW - Digital.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide reliable administrative support to the Works, Water & Wastewater, and Waste Operations teams, including document preparation, word processing, data entry, records management, and correspondence.
- Respond to routine internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex matters appropriately.
- Maintain accurate data in Council systems, including financial transactions, work orders, customer enquiries, and asset registers, ensuring compliance with records management protocols.
- Assist with the preparation of meeting agendas and minutes, support logistics for meetings, and contribute to general office organisation, including supply management.
- Ensure work practices align with Council policies and procedures, uphold confidentiality standards, and support compliance with WHS and environmental requirements.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a positive attitude when working across different teams and functions, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and collaborative team culture.

**About you**
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
- Current Drivers Licence (minimum NSW Provisional P1 Licence or equivalent).
- Eligibility to enrol in BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Administration).
- Certificate III in Business or approximately 2 year’s relevant work experience in industry.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to learn business communication standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in administrative and data-related tasks.
- Sound organisational and time management skills, with the ability to follow instructions, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
