**About the position**

Reporting to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager, the Trainee ICT Support Officer will be trained to support the provision of ICT services and support across Muswellbrook Shire Council. The role will assist with help desk support, desktop services, hardware and software troubleshooting, and user training.

The Trainee ICT Support Officer position is full-time employment for two (2) years and the proposed study will be Certificate IV in Information Technology through TAFE NSW - Digital.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with providing front-line ICT support including responding to help desk requests, troubleshooting issues, and escalating unresolved matters.
- Support the configuration and maintenance of desktop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other ICT assets.
- Assist with account creation, access provisioning, and basic system administration under supervision.
- Assist in maintaining Council's ICT asset registers, including equipment allocation and software tracking.
- Learn and follow Council procedures for ICT security, backups, and data protection.

**About you**
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent
- Current Drivers Licence (minimum NSW Provisional P1 Licence or equivalent)
- Eligibility to enrol in ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology
- Basic understanding and interest in ICT systems and support
- Digital literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and general computer use
- An analytical approach to problem-solving; and strong Maths and English skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or within a team environment.
