This year, marks 100 years since we began treating the wastewater from sinks, toilets and drains at the Bendigo and Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plants. Fast forward a century, and we have big plans to ensure these critical pieces of infrastructure continue to underpin our community’s health, and support growth and success for the future.

To help us, we’re looking for a Technical Operations Officer as we embark on major upgrades at the Bendigo and Castlemaine plants.

As you grow in this role, you’ll make it your mission to develop an ‘insider’s knowledge’ of our Water Reclamation Plants. You’ll become a ‘go-to’ person for technical expertise, and work with us to implement strategies to improve performance, management systems, practices, and to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative standards.

A snapshot of your day
- Provide advice and implement actions to ensure the quality of treated water meets or exceeds our regulatory obligations.
- Implement compliance and monitoring programs and assist with the evaluation of data.
- Assist with the delivery of organisational reporting.
- Use asset risk processes to identify and manage high risk assets at our Water Reclamation Plants.
- Form part of our on-call roster, which may see you work outside of your regular working hours from time-to-time.

To manage the risk of exposure to preventable disease, it is a compulsory requirement of the position to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus.

Applicants will need to successfully complete all core training requirements in the expected timeframes and may be required to undertake a Police Check, Working with Children Check, Pre-Employment Medicals or Psychometric testing where applicable. Applicants may also be required to produce evidence of their Right to Work in Australia.
