The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Diversity Supervisor to provide a critical role at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.

About the business unit
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Corrections Victoria also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders.
As part of the CJS group, the DPFC is a 568-bed medium to maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice.

About the role
The Diversity Supervisor will contribute to Dame Phyllis Frost Centre's (DPFC) management of complex and vulnerable female prisoners by expanding service options and stakeholder networks for this diverse cohort. In collaboration with contracted services who address medical and mental health needs, this position will focus on improving service connections for members of ethnic minority groups, the LGBTQ+ community, and those affected by age or disability.
The Diversity Supervisor will support the staff to develop individual management plans focused on service linkage to address individual needs, promote pro-social behaviour and address well-being and transitional needs.
The Diversity Supervisor will supervise members of the Offender Services and Leisure Centre teams and be the initial contact point for contracted services and voluntary stakeholders servicing women at the DPFC within the prison population.

About you

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in dealing with limitations imposed on prisoners in a correctional environment.
- Ability to motivate, influence and performance manage staff in order to achieve service delivery outcome targets and deliver quality programs and services.
- An understanding of needs and risk factors of marginal and emerging groups of women.
- Excellent computer program skills and file / data management skills.
