The Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) is a transformational public transport project that will bring more trains to your suburb and reduce travel times by running the busy Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury lines through a new tunnel. By untangling the City Loop, more trains can run more often across Melbourne.
We’ve finished digging twin 9km tunnels, and construction is underway on 5 new stations and testing of the new High Capacity Signalling system that will enable turn-up-and-go services.
Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to join the MTP Team.
**The Role**
The Supervisor position ensures that dedicated works are delivered in accordance to the program, quality, safety and cost requirements to ensure that the Alliance and Project objectives are met.
Whilst leading a team of subcontractors, the role will be responsible for the safe and successful completion of construction activities across the project or within specific works in the project.
This role is a
**fulltime, 2-year contract **based in our office & site location in Melbourne’s CBD.
**Responsibilities**- Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management.-
- Advisory on the Project to ensure best for Project decisions are made while protecting Metro’s assets for a safe and on time handover.-
- Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to best for Project and best for Metro’ outcomes.-
- Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term programs and plan daily/weekly production work.-
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key stakeholders informed.-
- Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the Senior Supervisor-
- Read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementing of final designs- **About You**- 2-5 years previous experience in a similar role within Rail Industry or similar multi-discipline industry.-
- Technical competency and understanding of current Rail Infrastructure construction and maintenance, highly desirable.-
- Experience working with equipment and the type approvals process.-
- Experience in a railway system operational, design environment or project management.-
- Relevant legislative knowledge (OHS Safety, IR).**Why Work for Metro**
