**The Department**

The Engineering Department is responsible for managing buildings and infrastructure and facilitating new projects according to capital development plans. This work includes site master planning, new capital projects, engineering services, biomedical engineering, lease management and support services. It encompasses the departments: Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Capital Works Projects, Property and Facilities, and Non Clinical Support Services across all campuses of Alfred Health.

**The Role**

The Administrative Officer is required to manage the receipt of visitors, equipment and goods into and out of the department; assist in the coordination of repair and maintenance activities of technical personnel; administer various computer-based management and finance systems; oversee the filing and retrieval of all documentation related to departmental operations. The roles and duties of administrative officers within the Engineering Department across all campuses of Alfred Health are considered to be sufficiently similar in nature to allow the positions to be interchangeable as and when circumstances require.

**Qualification & Experience Required**

**Experience**
- Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.

**Personal**
- Ability to communicate effectively with administrative, clinical and technical staff.

**Academic**
- Completion of an appropriate office management course is desirable.

**Other**
- Training in technical terminology is desirable.
