**_ We are looking for a dedicated and experienced First Nations professional to join our team as First Nations Inclusion Lead as a Parental Leave cover._**

The First Nations Lead will work proactively with leaders and managers to implement strategies that attract, recruit, and retain Indigenous employees, students, trainees and cadets. This will include supporting the review and implementation of People-focused policies and initiatives that contribute to the firm’s Reconciliation commitments, and Inclusion and Diversity strategies.

The First Nations Lead will actively promote agreed targets for employment initiatives for Indigenous employees. In addition they will work with the RAP Manager to deliver cultural safety programs for our leaders and workforce. The First Nations Lead will be the key point of contact for the KPMG Indigenous Network (KIN) and will develop initiatives that create connection and a sense of belonging for Indigenous employees to have long sustainable careers with KPMG.

Reporting to the Head of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Wellbeing, this role will:

- Drive an Indigenous recruitment and engagement strategy to strengthen the representation of Indigenous employees within the firm and support end-to-end employment for Indigenous people
- Support the implementation of our Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to ensure the delivery of our people commitments
- Work closely with our businesses to drive sustainable Indigenous employment outcomes
- Lead the coordination of the KPMG Indigenous Network, which brings together Indigenous team members from across the firm to share knowledge, provide feedback and accelerate positive reconciliation outcomes.
- Join our Reconciliation Taskforce to contribute to our Reconciliation Action Plan outcomes
- Contribute to the development of I&D reporting to include Indigenous representation
- Coach and mentor Indigenous employees on career development to ensure long-term employment with KPMG
- Coach and influence leaders across the business on Indigenous culture
- Support and develop relationships with important stakeholders including traditional owners, community members, Indigenous businesses, and recruitment providers.
- Engage KPMG people to celebrate and promote positive race relations through our sphere of influence
- Strengthen employment and professional development pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to develop meaningful careers at KPMG
- Support access to career opportunities for Indigenous students
- Support the implementation and coordination of broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and reconciliation programs for the firm

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

- Experience supporting Indigenous people and end-to-end employment programs
- A relevant Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Ideally some HR management experience in a large corporate or services organisation
- The ability to adapt and bring an innovative and pragmatic approach in a complex environment
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to influence.
- Experience in developing attraction, recruitment, and retention strategies
- Passionate and driven to build and support Indigenous cultural safety throughout the firm
