Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, as the you will lead and oversee the Investigations team which has the role of providing independent investigative services to the business to detect, investigate and prevent illegal or undesirable activities and serious incidents or breaches to ensure the operation of The Star’s casino properties remain free from criminal influence or exploitation - and in so doing, ensure The Star’s suitability to hold and maintain a casino licence is not adversely impacted.

**Opportunities to make an impact include**:
**Governance, Assurance & investigation**
- Provide high level investigative management by leading the independent team of investigators (NSW & QLD) to support TSEG compliance with Casino Control Acts and all other State and Federal Government Agencies and legislation

**External stakeholder engagement**
- Establish, consolidate, and develop relationships with Commonwealth and State law enforcement partner agencies and private sector organisations and regulators to facilitate seamless operational activities, represent The Star interest at strategic, tactical and operational meetings.
- Internal and external stakeholders including law enforcement and the regulators as part of joint operations and meetings, as required.
- On request, Represent The Star in court matters, providing expertise and knowledge in business intelligence and matters of a criminal nature.
- Collaborate effectively with chief Risk Officer and Group Regulatory Manager to ensure alignment of regulatory engagement.

**To be successful in this role you will have**
- Previous leadership experience leading investigations and teams in a law or regulatory environment is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills to deliver credible, robust criminal investigations activities in a high-volume environment
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, risk mitigation, investigation, and project management
- Broad understanding of relevant statutory compliance and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people and resources and contribute effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
