The Rail Safety, Investigations team at Queensland Rail is searching for an experienced and savvy incident investigation professional who displays a passion for all things safety whilst connecting communities through rail.

**About this role**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager Assurance and Investigations, a permanent opportunity exists for an Investigations Team Leader to join our Rail Safety team based in Brisbane CBD. The role requires you to lead, support and mentor a team of investigators, whilst actively managing your own portfolio of ongoing investigations. You will need to have a high level of skill in report writing along with the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders of all levels. Although CBD based, there can be the requirement to travel, so flexibility is a must along with availability to partake in an on-call roster system.

There is complex and extensive stakeholder management required across internal and external stakeholders. The ability to develop relationships quickly to gather information and influence outcomes will be a measure of your success.

**You can anticipate some of your responsibilities, amongst others to include**:

- Lead a team of investigators to coordinate and conduct complex safety investigations.
- Actively manage a portfolio of your own investigations.
- Coordinate planning and resource allocation for the team.
- Coordinate stakeholder communications within complex investigations with geographically dispersed stakeholders.

**To be considered for this role you must have**:

- Substantial experience in carrying out incident investigations within large complex organisations.
- High level of skill in leadership and stakeholder management.
- High level of interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, oral and written communication skills necessary to consult with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and SMEs to obtain relevant information.
- Extensive knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements of Rail and Workplace Safety
