About the role

In this newly created role, you’ll partner extensively with Lifeblood’s internal stakeholders and external suppliers to actively seek opportunities to optimise our logistics planning function while maximizing the benefits of our newly implemented Materials Requirements Planning system.

Your primary objective will be to ensure streamlined sourcing of all consumables, enabling accurate and timely delivery. This is a great opportunity to join our team and make a significant impact on Lifeblood's consumable sourcing and logistics planning.

**A day in the role, will see you**:
Balance consumable inventory across the national footprint of Lifeblood

Align sourcing activities with physical usage locations, minimizing costs and logístical movements.

Guide the business on min/max settings for warehouse, labs, and donor centers (non-MRP planned consumables)

Provide recommendations for change based on MRP data output

Consult with business users to determine the most cost-effective ordering mechanism for consumable requirements.

Conduct frequent reviews of slow-moving and obsolete stock, collaborating with stakeholders to reduce inventory holdings

Monitor consumables nearing expiration and work with the business to utilize them in the most cost-effective manner

Collaborate with operational stakeholders to forecast and maintain effective inventory levels

Identify opportunities to consolidate item sourcing and reduce the number of suppliers used

Educate business users on best practices for sourcing methodologies to minimize cost and risk

**Sounds interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for**:
Extensive experience in logistics or supply chain roles

Digital and technical aptitude in MRP system, preferably Oracle Cloud

Previous experience in complex statistical analysis and ability to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation

Strong negotiation skills to balance inventory with mínimal cost and risk.

Experience building strong relationships with stakeholders

Problem-solving skills to address complex inventory management challenges with competing priorities.

Familiarity with bill of material (BOM) master data requirement
