**Position Description: SIL Co-ordinator**
**Background and Experience**:
- At least 2 years working in the within the disability sector
- Thorough knowledge of disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme
- State worker screening or NDIS Worker Screening database (July 2020)
- An understanding of NDIS legislation and rules concerning “reasonable and necessary
**Personal Qualities**:SIL Co-ordinator** **should demonstrate**
- An ability to prioritise work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent in Microsoft Excel and Word
- An ability to build and maintain strong community connections with service providers, individuals and families/carers
- Display sensitivity to clients of different cultures, languages, customs and ability levels
- An ability to work in multicultural background
**Tasks**:
- Maintain and manage an electronic filing system
- Ensure client records are kept confidential by use of passwords of filing system
- Process accounts for payment; keep office supplies up to date
- Store BHC’s correspondence including policies, procedures and wages and maintain confidentiality
- Assist in payroll or rostering duties as required
- Create documents such as Service Agreements, client profiles, training materials and other documents as required
- Develop collaborative working relationships with participants and their families, and other networking groups
- Liaise with any plan manager or Support Coordinators to establish appropriate claim categories and attribute the correct amounts of funding for the SIL Client
- Must complete all the forms required in the BHC App and client profile during the intake process for a client
- You must be willing to visit any BHC client’s house up on request from the directors
- Build strong rapport and relationships with clients, families and carers and ensure channels of communication are open, positive and productive.
- Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships and lines of communication with other providers, health professionals and external networks that form part of clients lives.
- In collaboration with other staff monitor the operational standards, policies and procedures and deliver support and services in accordance with NDIS legislative requirements and Quality Management framework.
- Adhere to and facilitate worker compliance in regard to Worker Qualifications, Grievance and Complaints, WH&S and Incident registers
**In addition to the above tasks, ** **SIL Co-ordinator** **are expected to**:
- Document the issues or ring the employer promptly if there is an incident or accident which has occurred with a client of BHC documents it through incident reporting. In the case of emergency, ringing “000”
- Raise awareness of the complaint system of BHC and respond accordingly to try to resolve an issue
- Participate in quality assurance and compliance process as and when required by the employer
**Job Type**: Casual
**Salary**: $30.33 - $34.00 per hour
