**Role Type**: Permanent, Full-time

The Australia + PNG region is a ~$2.7bn p.a. revenue business consisting of ~320 FTE. The region is critical to ANZ Institutional’s strategy to be the best bank in the world for customers that move goods and capital across the region. The business seeks to balance the opportunities provided by uncertain economic conditions with the need to optimise capital efficiency and returns, while continuing to simplify the operating model, resolve legacy issues and manage regulatory change.

What will your day look like

As a Finance Business Partner, you will support the Lead Business Partner and Business by providing forward-looking, strategic financial insight and advice to drive performance at levels considered material to the Group CEO and CFO. You will focus your time on advising finance and the business on strategies and tactical activities that improve financial performance (revenue, profitability, and costs). Your value lies in your deep contextual understanding of the business; your ability to use data to generate insights that lead to enhanced performance; and your capacity to influence your senior stakeholders to take action.

You will work to identify critical business insights, opportunities, and issues, providing commercial analysis and recommendations, challenging the status quo, and ensuring your stakeholders prioritise and optimise financial outcomes in line with ANZ Group and Divisional objectives.

You will often collaborate with other teams across the Finance and the business community including Strategic Delivery, Financial Performance Management, Financial Control, Cost COE, Business Execution and Segment Relationship teams.

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

- Stakeholder Management/Influencing - comfortable in building relationships and influencing stakeholders
- Financial Analysis - proficient at sourcing data and undertaking financial analysis, understanding issues, generating insights, and providing early warning on performance, Should be proficient with the use of MS Excel, Qlik, and a range of financial tools
- Financial Advice - can support and advise the business by providing budgeting, financial planning and forecasting processes whilst providing accurate, reliable & timely performance analysis & reporting
- Financial Performance Management - can support business leaders to set business targets, balance sheet performance metrics and finance cost management (BAU and/or Investments) where appropriate
- Communication - strong verbal and written communication skills (including storytelling and visualisation techniques) to effectively communicate insights
