About the organisation
The Department leads the delivery of education and development services to children, young people and adults both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services and non-government schools.
About the role
Making Victoria the Education State starts with the early years. The Victorian Government is commitment to giving every child the best start in life, and the Early Childhood Education (ECE) group, operating in the Department of Education, is pivotal to achieving this. The group plays a key role in operational policy development, service program design and commissioning and regulation, to ensure a child and family centred outcomes focused integrated education system in Victoria.
About you
Inspiring, collaborative and a seasoned leader, you are widely respected for the success you have achieved through building high performing teams and delivering in complex, public sector contexts. You have a background in social policy reform and/or service design and delivery and a strong understanding of the early childhood education reform agenda in Victoria. You are adept in navigating government, known for your critical thinking and recognised as a problem solver. Presenting with acumen, energy and insight, you outline a compelling vision that motivates people to achieve while maintaining collegiality, consistency and calmness under pressure. Your career history demonstrates proven influence in delivering large scale system change, projects and growth, while maintaining a focus on relationships and culture. You are excited by challenge and the fine balance of government and community priorities, across a critical, growing state-wide portfolio that will benefit children, and ultimately all Victorians.
